ABOUT THE COMMISSION
The Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission consists of 13 members appointed by the governor with two members representing each of the regional parks and trails districts and one member at large. See commission members.
District Planning Committees (DPC)Consistent with the Strategic Plan, the Commission established six DPC’s to work on system planning within each of the districts. This includes supporting the Commission in defining differences, nuances and opportunities related to regional park and trail needs and priorities. Each of the six DPCs has a minimum of seven and a maximum of 13 members, including the two Commissioners from that district. All members were appointed by the Commission through a defined selection protocol. Each DPC is supported locally by a DPC Administrative Support consultant, who operates under the direction of the System Plan Coordinator.
