2016 Legislative Report
On November 23 2016, the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission met and approved funding recommendations for FY18 grants to regionally designated parks and trails in Greater Minnesota.
The Commission carefully considered the 25 funding applications; a total amount of $23,582,369, and approved funding for 12 applications at a total of $8,298,810, 35% of the total amount requested. Review the Funding Report HERE.
The Minnesota legislature must now approve the Commission’s recommendations during the upcoming legislative session.
The 12 projects recommended for funding will further enhance the outdoor recreation experience for Minnesotans and visitors to the state, as well as providing an economic impact in the communities in which the projects are taking place.
