Trail Survey of Law Enforcement Agencies & Officers

10/31/2016

Comments

The primary objective of the survey was to gain a better understanding of the law enforcement and public safety issues associated with non-motorized trails. The survey was conducted in an effort to provide trail planners, law enforcement officers, community leaders, and citizens a more complete understanding of the extent to which unlawful activity occurs and the conflicts most common to trails. Results of the survey are intended to be used to inform the public process associated with trail planning and design.

New Northland Regional Shooting Sports Park Opens

10/25/2016

Comments

On Friday, October 21, the brand new Northland Regional Shooting Sports Park opened. Located in Beltrami County, the park provides a large, safe and well-designed opportunity for shooting sports enthusiasts to enjoy the outdoors. Beltrami County and the Headwaters Shooting Sports Association, a local partner who operates the park, applied for and received regional designation from the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission in 2014. One of several sources of funding, the Commission provided state Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment funds in FY2017 to help build portions of the park.
